When the kind people at Hope For Paws received a call about a dog living on the railroad tracks, they immediately sought to bring the pup in. This is an extremely dangerous living situation and they wanted to make sure the dog was safe.
At first, they tried to lure her with food, but that didn't work. As time went on, the dog became more and more anxious and it was harder to bring her in. Finally, they were able to get her into a humane trap but this scared dog bit through the snare pole trying to escape and it caused lots of bleeding. They were able to bring this dog in to safety and give her the love and care that she truly needed.
Tweedy, as they named her, suffered from a number of ailments and needed surgery. But now, Tweedy is living in a foster home and getting tons of attention and love. What a drastic difference. I'm so thankful for the amazing rescuers at Hope For Paws.
Having a baby born premature is never easy. One the mother is discharged from the hospital, normally the baby has to stay there for a while. That means a new mom must leave her newborn, at least for a little bit. That has to be extremely difficult.
Hospitals know that both mom and baby will be missing each other while they are apart so they teamed up with music therapists for a special project. The music therapists work with parents and help them record their voices so that babies can hear their parent's voices.
It can be a song or a bedtime story, anything that would provide a newborn some much-needed comfort. This is such an amazing initiative and I know that it's creating a lifelong bond between mother and child. What a great idea!
As we Christians navigate the world, it's no surprise that questions arise from time to time. Some of these topics can be hotly debated or difficult to discuss, such as is God ever pleased when a church shuts down?
This is an interesting question and it is the topic that Pastor Todd Wagner from Watermark Community Church is discussing today. First, Pastor Todd opens the Bible and goes over the actual definition of a church. He points out there there are many places that call themselves churches but some of them aren't actually putting the fire in people's hearts for the Lord.
I love how he is able to take tough topics and break them down into words that we can all understand. This in-depth look into scripture will truly open your eyes to this topic. What do you think of Pastor Todd's discussion?
10-year-old Bodi lost his mother when he was just six years old. I know that loss must've been especially difficult for a little boy, but today he is putting all that pain into song. Bodi is auditioning for The Voice Kids and it's absolutely touching.
Just watch as he steps out on stage and starts to sing 'Fix You' by Coldplay during the blind auditions. Not only is Bodi extemely talented, but he is dedicated this performance to his mother's memory. The judges knew that they were listening to something special and they just had to turn around and see the person behind that voice.
Bodi is so brave for sharing his story and then stepping on stage to follow his dreams. I'm so glad that he is moving on to the next round and we can hear more from the talented young boy.
It was a terrifying moment when a dance studio in New Jersey caught fire. When the fire broke out, a dance class was in session with a group of young girls in attendance.
The blaze quickly overtook the studio and the students needed to get out and escape quickly. They moved to the balcony where bystanders were waiting with ladders and arms to catch them. One by one, these scared girls climbed down the balcony and fell into the arms of waiting strangers.
I know this must've been a very scary moment for everyone involved but I'm so glad that these strangers came together to save everyone. Fires can spread quickly and are extremely dangerous.
This situation could've ended very differently, but thankfully all of the girls were able to escape unharmed. Firefighters arrived and worked all night to put out the blaze. I know God was with everyone that day.
Callista Clark is a talented 14-year-old country singer and she is well on her way to an amazing career in music. Callista is such an amazing musician and her vocals have already won the hearts of many people all over America.
She has amazing talent and people look forward to seeing her music covers she posts online. Whether she is playing her guitar, her piano, or just singing acapella, she will wow you with her amazing voice. This time, the musical southern belle sang her own rendition of the song “Desperado” by the 70’s American rock band the Eagles. And she sang it in a way that you have never heard before. For her to be only 14-years-old, her voice is so strong.
I am so impressed with her music. She is certainly one-of-a-kind. You can tell that she put in a lot of work in developing her voice. She is singing the words of the song and playing the music so confidently. It is hard to believe that she is so young. If she is this good now, imagine how she will be in a couple of years. What do you think of Callista's cover?
Us the Duo is talented singing couple made up of husband-and-wife Michael and Carissa Alvarado. Over the years, these two have made a splash all over the internet with their creative songs and beautiful voices.
But today, they are using their talent for an even more amazing reason. This couple has a very special announcement to make and they've decided to put it in song form. Just listen to this sweet tune as Michael and Carissa tell the world that they are expecting their first child together. This duo is about to become a trio and it's definitely going to be an amazing adventure.
I just love how these two sit down and give a simple but beautiful performance to announce their bundle of joy. I'm so excited for this couple and I can't wait to see how they incorporate the new baby into their future songs. Congratulations to the happy couple!
It was a scary moment for this truck driver when his rig got stuck in the middle of some railroad tracks. The most terrifying part was that a train was barreling down the tracks coming right towards the truck.
The whistle can be heard in the background to warn of the oncoming train. One bystander noticed the entire situation and started to film this scary scene. Thankfully, the driver was able to escape with only seconds to spare. The train ran right into the truck but there was no one inside.
This was definitely a terrifying situation and it could've ended very badly. I'm so glad that the truck driver was able to escape in time and there were no injuries. This was seriously just in the nick of time. Who else was holding their breath the entire time?
Senior Chief Petty Officer Scott Dayton was the first U.S. service member killed in Syria. He left behind a wife and two children and while they continue to grieve, they have decided to give back in Scott's honor.
Together, Kristin Dayton and her children traveled to Houston to help rebuild a home devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Along with other Gold Star families who lost loved ones serving in the military, they are working to give this homeowner a better life.
These amazing families know what it's like to lose something precious and they hope that their efforts to rebuild this home will bring a light to someone else. One of the most touching moments during this build is when all of the families write a note to their lost loved ones on the wall of the new home.
Even though these notes will be covered in drywall, the memory and the legacies of their family members will continue to live on in the new home. What an amazing way to give back!
Mike Bushell is a sports reporter for the BBC. Recently, he was taping a live broadcast for BBC Breakfast where he was interviewing England Commonwealth Games swimmers Sarah Vasey, Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, Ben Proud and James Guy.
The swimmers were seated on the edge of a small pool and Mike was going to get in the water and interview them. Everything was going great until Mike stepped in the pool and didn't realize that there was a small drop-off. He went to walk towards one of the swimmers and plunged into the water on live television. The young swimmers immediately started laughing and Mike just had to join in.
Thankfully, he was already in his swimsuit and no equipment was damaged but this sure did make for some great TV. I always love watching news anchor bloopers and this pool plunge definitely had me rolling with laughter. Has anything like this ever happened on your local news station?
Katie the Great Dane passed away recently. Katie's best friend Max, also a Great Dane, has taken the news especially hard. He doesn't quite understand that his friend, Katie, will not be coming back.
It's heartbreaking to see Max just waiting by the door hoping to see Katie barrel through at any time. There is truly a special relationship between animals, especially ones that have grown up together. This is so apparent in the bond between Katie and Max. He just sits on his pillow staring out the window and it's such an emotional moment.
It's never easy when we lose a loved one and that goes for our fur babies too. I know Max is getting a lot of love from his human parents and even though Katie has crossed the rainbow bridge, her memory will live on.
US Air Force Sergeant Josh has been serving overseas for seven months. When he found out when he was due to arrive home, he teamed up with his wife to arrange a special homecoming surprise for his family.
First, he decided to surprise his 8-year-old son Jayden, who has Cerebral Palsy. He went to his school and the two had to hold back their tears after a long, emotional embrace.
Then, he went on to his other two kids who were equally as excited. Sergeant Josh continued his surprise reunions by seeing his his mom, two brothers, his cousin and his cousin’s wife. But the best reaction had to come from his dad who literally jumped into his son's arm out of excitement.
I know everyone is so happy to have their family member home. What a great way to welcome him back!
A lot of people think that when you get older, you have less fun. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Staying active and enjoying life can give you even more energy than you had in your youth. That's exactly what this couple feels like when they dance across the floor.
Just watch as the step onto the stage and give the most amazing and energetic performance. It's full of twists, turns and spins and they're moving so fast that I can barely keep up. The entire crowd is clapping along and you can tell that this couple is having the time of their lives.
I just love that they are showing that age is just a number. Don't let getting older slow you down. Some of your best years are ahead of you. Who else agrees?
Ruby wasn't even a year old before she had been returned to the animal shelter 5 times. Ruby was said to have aggressive behavior and was unmanageable. Ultimately, this dog was labeled as unadoptable and was set to be put down. That's when dog trainer Patricia Inman and the Rhode Island State Police.
Patricia worked with Ruby and knew she would probably be too much for most families but not for the police department. They paired this dog up with Trooper Daniel O’Neil and he worked with her for four months straight and saw a complete change in the pup.
That's when a call came in that Glocester police had searched 24 hours for a missing teen and they needed help. O'Neil and Ruby decided to pitch in and Ruby was the one who actually discovered the young man in the woods who had fallen and hit his head and was severely injured.
Thankfully, the teen was okay but the thing that really opened everyone's eyes is that the boy was the son of dog trainer Patricia Inman. She had helped save Ruby's life and in return, Ruby helped save her son. That's definitely a God-wink!
Britton Buchanan has been impressing the judges since his very first audition on The Voice. His unique voice combined with his amazing stage presence has come this young man around in the competition.
Today, Britton is battling for his spot as he performs during the knockout rounds for Team Alicia. Britton starts off by playing the piano to the classic Billy Joel tune 'New York State Of Mind.' But once he grabs the mic and steps onto the stage, the real performance truly begins.
There's something about Britton that keeps you listening note after note. He truly has amazing vocal skills and this song was the perfect way to showcase his voice. I'm sure Alicia had a tough time deciding who won this round, but ultimately Britton will be advancing to the live shows. I'm so glad he's sticking around and I can't wait to hear his next performance!
When a horrible bus accident happened on a highway in China, God placed a man in the right place at the right time. It was a rainy day in China when a car lost control on the slippery highway and went flying to the opposite side of the road.
The car headed right towards an oncoming bus and the bus was hit head-on, causing it to steer off it's course. The bus began to slide down the side of the highway and plunged right into a river. The heavy bus was quickly sinking, with its passengers inside. Everyone who was sharing the road stopped and jumped out of their cars to see if the passengers floating in the water were okay.
Thankfully, one of the bystanders was also a crane drive and he so badly wanted to help the passengers. He ran back to his crane and drove it to the river. Then he used his crane to pick up every passenger from out of the water. He was able to rescue every passenger, one by one. The situation could have been even more devastating and I am so glad that God sent this man to help.
When the HSV Zwölfaxing Austrian-Vienniese Dance Club took to the world-famous Stephansdom in the middle of Vienna, everyone knew it was going to be an amazing performance. And as they started dancing to the popular song 'Marry Me' the whole crowd knew something even bigger was coming.
Just watch as this talented group performs all over the square and truly impresses with their incredible skills. But soon, the dancers stand in a line and begin to part to reveal a man with a bouquet of flowers. That's when a woman with a stunned expression emerges from the crowd.
This amazing dance number was actually a surprise flash mob proposal and this woman was in for the moment of her life. I know a lot of time and practice went in to this proposal but it was definitely worth every second to see the look on her face. Congratulations to the happy couple!
There's nothing better than an upbeat patriotic song to truly get your hands clapping. And today, we have the pleasure of hearing the United States Navy Band perform Rodney Atkins hit "It's America."
This is one of those songs that makes you want to get up and clap along and hearing it perform from members of our military is absolutely amazing. It's obvious there is so much pride in each one of these performers and it all comes across in this song.
I just love hearing these amazing musicians and members of the United States Navy give this song everything they got. Who else is clapping along to this country song?
