After Helen met her boyfriend, he began to emotionally batter her in something that is now called coercive control. She was swept off her feet but right after, he started to give her 'suggestions' and tell her thinks she should do. Her boyfriend tried to disguise it as flattery or taking care of her, but after years, Helen realized that he controlled everything about her life. She constantly had to ask his permission to do things, he told her what to wear, what to eat and even followed her to track her whereabouts. This type of abuse happens over time and breaks spirits and robs victims of their sense of identity. Today, Helen is telling her story on the talkshow This Morning and it's truly a tale we all need to hear. Helen never thought she'd be in a relationship like this so now she wants to warn other women of the signs so they do not fall into this type of relationship either. When a woman’s 2-month-old baby started choking while she was driving, she started to panic. Officers had stopped to help the disabled vehicle when the realized that the situation was more emergent than they thought. Every moment is captured on the police body camera and it's absolutely heart-stopping to watch. The little girl's body was lifeless, and the mom wasn't sure what to do. So, she quickly handed to baby over to the waiting officers and they turned her around to try and open up the airway. You can hear the officers talk back and forth giving each other advice while they call the situation in for an ambulance. Thankfully, after a few good pats, this poor baby's airway was cleared and she started to breathe on her own again. I know that this mother must've been so realized to know that her baby was going to be okay. Thank goodness that these police officers were in the right place at the right time. God bless our heroes in blue.

God made the ultimate sacrifice for us when He sent His only Son to Earth to die for our sins. Because of this gift, we are now forgiven and free to live out our days in Heaven above. Brandon Elder is an amazing songwriter who has an even more incredible story. Brandon is from Birmingham, Alabama with such an inspirational story and from a very early age, his biological mother was not able to take care of him. That's when she traded Brandon to a family for a car. But that family was not able to take care of him either and decided to put him up for adoption. Thankfully, Brandon was adopted by a wonderful woman named Patricia. She wanted to make sure that she could give Brandon the normal childhood that he deserved, even if that meant working multiple jobs. She did such a good job of taking care of him, but when Brandon was about fourteen years old, Patricia was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her breast cancer went into remission for about two years, but it ended up coming back. It was a difficult battle and doctors said that there was nothing that they can do. During that time, Brandon would sing to her to encourage her. And that is when he decided to pursue a career in music because his mom loved to hear him sing so much. Unfortunately, Patricia had lost her battle with cancer, but Brandon decided to continue singing to honor his mother’s memory. And that is what led him to American Idol. For his audition, Brandon sang an original song that he wrote all about his mother. Brandon’s songwriting skills and the raspy-ness of his voice caught the attention of all three of the judges. Fortunately, Brandon’s hard work paid off because all three judges gave him a huge, "Yes!" This is just the beginning of Brandon's journey as a musician. The best part is that Brandon believes that no matter what happens, his mother will be watching over him.

I've seen a lot of gender reveals before, but I think this one may take the cake. When it was time to find out the gender of their baby, this couple decided to play a fun gender reveal game with hardboiled eggs. They gathered all of their family and friends to watch as the couple hit blue and pink hardboiled eggs against their foreheads. What a fun and exciting way to reveal the gender!

Music gave him hope and he grew more in love with singing. During this time, his sister had a baby but because she fell into a lifestyle of drugs she could not keep him. So, when baby Rashad was just one-week-old, the officials came to Marcio and told him that the baby would go into the system if Marcio did not adopt him. Marcio did not hesitate to say yes and he took his nephew in as his own son. Even though he had no clue about being a dad, Marcio stepped up to that responsibility and learned to love his son the best way he can. And Rashad turned out to be Marcio’s greatest gift. Now, Marcio wants to show his son an example of a what a true man is, so he dedicated his audition to his baby boy. And while Marcio sang, Rashad was watching his daddy so intently and it was absolutely precious. Marcio was so emotional by the end of his audition and could not hold back any tears. I was having a hard time holding them back too!

Poor Hermione was abandoned in a forest in North Carolina where she roamed as a stray dog for over a year. That's where she stepped on a rusty coyote trap and severely injured her foot. For 5 days, Animal Control and the local police department tried to rescue Hermione but they were unsuccessful, even when they set a humane trap. That's when they decided to call in the experts at Hope For Paws to bring this poor dog in and get her the safety and attention she so desperately needed. The crew flew all the way from California to help Hermione and as soon as they landed, they set to work. They could see the trap still attached the Hermione was causing her a lot of pain and she continued to lick at the wound. But little by little, they tried to gain Hermione's trust but she continued to walk away. That's when they realized they needed their soccer nets to rescue this sweet dog. They set up a perimeter, with the help of kind volunteers, and were able to get their hands on Hermione. After the trap was removed and Hermione was able to travel, the Hope For Paws crew spent 3 days driving across the country. Now this precious animal is recovering from her paw reconstruction surgery and waiting for her forever home. I'm so glad this amazing dog has a second chance at life thanks to these kind rescuers.
